[Barry isn't the strongest dude in the world, but with a little bit of help from his speed he's able to haul Crane up until most of his body weight is resting in the tunnel (strength 19).]

Full disclosure, I don't know where these vents go, but hopefully we can get out at the next vent and try to find a way out of here from there.

[ hvac systems are a thing crane appreciates very much about the modern world. being inside them not so much. ]

I would assume these span the entirety of the structure? They must take in air from the outdoors.

Usually, yes. But they can also go for miles within the same building and the more time we spend up here, the more likely we are to get caught. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be trapped in a small metal box if they start shooting us out of the ceiling.

[Barry pauses for a moment, closing his eyes to try and envision the hallways that run beneath them.]

[ crane pauses, humming to himself as he counts through the distance they've traveled. without a real frame of reference, he can't tell exactly where they are, but he's got a pretty good idea (navigate??? 18 +7). crane's voice dips into a bass, grave with levity. ]

If they are funneling us into an ambush, there's purpose beyond preventing escape.

[ why leave an opening when capture was secure? ]

So they want to kill us, but give themselves plausible deniability?

Perhaps they may actually allow us escape so that we may lead them to something they want. Or, we weren't supposed to be brought here in the first place.
